Job Description Summary

A&K is seeking a driven individual to fill a Yard Manager position in our Pueblo, CO facility. The Yard Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations at the site, including inventory management, shipping materials, and operating heavy equipment. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Site Manager will ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

• Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and manage inventory levels to meet project demands.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Implement and maintain inventory control systems and procedures.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Shipping and Materials Handling:

• Plan and coordinate the shipping of materials to and from the site.
• Ensure that all shipping documents are accurate and comply with company policies.
• Supervise the loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with logistics and procurement teams to optimize material flow and reduce delays.

Heavy Equipment Operation:

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, loaders, and cranes.
• Ensure that equipment is operated safely and efficiently, following all operational guidelines, for materials ranging from 30-ft to 80-ft in length.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Train and supervise team members in the proper use of heavy equipment.

Site Management and Supervision:

• Oversee all on-site activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Lead and manage a team of workers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
• Monitor project progress and report any issues or delays to the Operations Manager.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

Skills

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues effectively.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects of at least 60 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Capability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
• Physical dexterity to operate heavy equipment and perform manual tasks including climbing, bending.

Working Conditions:

• May require working extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in site management, with a focus on inventory management and heavy equipment operation.

Compensation: 

$55,000-$70,000
